State-of-the-Art Technology

Phase 1 of the expansion at JW Aluminum's plant in Goose Creek, South Carolina represents the most significant capital investment in domestic continuous cast technologies and capabilities since 1998 and makes JW Aluminum's Goose Creek plant one of the most technologically advanced continuous cast facilities in the world. When announced, this project also represented the 4th largest economic development announcement in South Carolina and in Berkeley County, second only to Google.

Phase 1 construction includes a new 220,000 square foot building - the size of nearly four football fields - and the installation of proven, state-of-the-art equipment utilizing green technology. As part of the expansion, JW Aluminum has added 50 new jobs to its workforce.

This state-of-the-art technology installation will greatly enhance JW Aluminum’s capabilities to serve its primary end markets, continuing our 40-year legacy of commitment to providing high-quality aluminum to customers.

We're thrilled that our project has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Carlisle Associates Smart Move for Expansion award and the Berkeley County Industry Innovation & Productivity Excellence Award.

  • This expansion has been years in the making and its undertaking would not be possible without the team’s depth of experience, a highly engaged workforce, local and national government support and our stakeholders’ commitment to our industry,” said Stan Brant, Chief Operating Officer.
