A Safe and Sustainable Future

Our Commitment to Sustainability

At JW Aluminum, sustainability is elemental to what we do. We process rolled aluminum that is infinitely recyclable. 75% of all aluminum ever produced is still in use today.

Given our position in the aluminum value chain, we have a unique opportunity and responsibility, to leverage aluminum’s everlasting nature to its fullest. We pledge to use as little energy-intensive primary aluminum as possible, and as much recycled aluminum as possible. We’re dedicated to reducing waste, energy use, and carbon emissions across our entire operations.

With increased interest and importance of certifications like LEED, Energy Star, and TRA, customers in the markets we serve – building products, HVAC, and transportation – value sustainability. Together, we share the goal and play a critical role in achieving a circular economy.

We’re committed to securing a safe and sustainable future for generations to come – for all of our stakeholders, for American manufacturing, and for our planet.

Aluminum Recycles Forever

Infinitely recyclable and highly durable, nearly 75 percent of all aluminum ever produced is still in use today. Aluminum is 100 percent recyclable and retains its properties indefinitely. Aluminum is one of the only materials in the consumer disposal stream that more than pays for the cost of its own collection.

Recycling aluminum saves more than 90 percent of the energy that would be needed to create a comparable amount of metal from raw materials. Tossing away an aluminum can wastes as much energy as pouring out half of that can’s volume of gasoline.

In addition to its infinite recyclability, our 3105 alloy is lightweight, strong, durable, and corrosion-resistant. An estimated 60% of aluminum used in buildings built today comes from recycled materials.

Recycled aluminum building materials contribute to LEED certification, and with high recycled content, are a vital component of sustainable, green building.
