JW Aluminum manufacturing operations in St. Louis, MO and Mt. Holly, SC achieved major milestones for safety in January. Both mills surpassed one million man-hours without a lost time accident.

At the St. Louis operations, workers have gone over two years without a lost time accident. At the larger Mt. Holly mill, there has not been a lost time accident in over a year.

JWA leaders credit a growing culture or ownership for the safety records. “JW Aluminum’s WIN philosophy encourages all our employees to think and act like they own the company,” said Lee McCarter, CEO. “Keeping workers safe is everyone’s priority. Our workers are shareholders who take responsibility to make JWA mills safer, more productive and more successful.”

Continued CEO McCarter, “A million hours without a lost time injury is an accomplishment in any industry, but in the metals industry it is extraordinary. We are very proud of our teams in St. Louis and Mt. Holly.”

JW Aluminum manufactures specialty flat-rolled aluminum products including fin stock used by the heating and cooling industry, light gauge converter foil for the flexible packaging industry, honeycomb foil for the aerospace industry, bare and painted sheet products for window coverings and the building and construction markets, and other foil and sheet products. JWA also operates plants in

Mt. Russellville, Arkansas and Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
