(Mt. Holly, SC) April 4, 2011 — As you know, the world energy markets have been extremely volatile over the last several months due to a series of well publicized events, which are out of our control. Oil is trading at levels above $100 per barrel, gas and diesel fuel prices at the pump are on the rise, and nearly all input costs indices have increased rapidly and significantly. Given the speed and rate at which all of this has occurred, we are forced to institute an energy surcharge. In an effort to simplify the surcharge, effective with new orders entered on or after May 1, 2011, an energy surcharge of $0.01 cents per pound will be added to all conversion prices. See surcharge announcement.
JW Aluminum will continue to monitor the extreme volatility of the energy markets to offer our customers alternatives, such as freight FOB our manufacturing facilities, which can be coordinated by our transportation organization.
