JW Aluminum Company Announces Executive Changes

Mount Holly, SC (December 3, 2009)—JW Aluminum Company, a leading manufacturer of flat-rolled aluminum products, today announced the retirement of Don Kassing, President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Kassing has served as President and CEO since 2003 and has led the transformational growth of the Company over the last six years.

Effective immediately, Lee McCarter has been named Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, Mr. McCarter will continue to serve as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer until a replacement is named. Mr. McCarter joined the Company in April of this year, after serving in senior leadership roles over the last 20 years in both consumer and industrial related industries.

Additionally, Ron Marchbanks has been named President and Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Marchbanks joined the Company in August 2008 with over 30 years of experience in leadership positions at various companies within the aluminum industry.

Mr. McCarter and Mr. Marchbanks have both been instrumental in leading the Company through the recent market and operational challenges.

"Don has been a key leader in growing JWA throughout this decade. He has been at the helm of JWA for many of its most successful years. I want to thank Don for all his contributions and wish him well in his future endeavors," said William F. Dawson, Jr., Chairman of the Board of JW Aluminum Company and Managing Partner of Wellspring Capital Management LLC, the private equity firm that reacquired the Company in 2006 after a successful investment in the Company from 2003-2005.

"I have the utmost confidence in Mr. McCarter, Mr. Marchbanks and the rest of the management team at JWA, and believe that they are the right team to lead JWA into the future and build on the successes of the Company’s past," added Mr. Dawson.

Founded in 1980, JW Aluminum manufactures specialty flat-rolled aluminum products including "fin stock" used by the heating and cooling industry, light gauge converter foil for the flexible packaging industry, honeycomb foil for the aerospace industry, bare and painted sheet products for window coverings and the building and construction markets, and other foil and sheet products. JWA operates plants in Mt. Holly, South Carolina; St Louis, Missouri; Russellville, Arkansas; Jackson, Tennessee and Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
