JW ALUMINUM APPOINTS ALMY TO BOARD

Charleston, SC, May 24, 2004 — JW Aluminum has announced the appointment of Richard E. Almy to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Almy is the President and a board member of Vesper Corporation, a privately held worldwide manufacturer of aircraft, automotive and industrial products. Prior to joining Vesper, he served as Chief Operating Officer and was a board member of Walter Industries. He had also served as president of JW Aluminum, president of JW Window Components and held operating and production positions with Kaiser Aluminum, Consolidated Aluminum, Hoover Group and RTZ Corporations.
